Donations to the Golden Link School
to be matched by the Kern Foundation

Last year we had what we thought of as a unique opportunity to raise funds for the Golden Link School in the Philippines. At that time we had received a matching grant offer from the Kern Foundation in the USA for US$30,000. The worldwide response from our members was so strong that we asked for and received an increase in the grant amount to $35,000. The end result was that we sent a cheque for over $74,000 to the school!

Vic Hao Chin, Jr, Chairman of the Golden Link School (now Golden Link College), informs us that your donations from last year are being used to construct a new four storey building that will house the assembly hall, the expanded college library and some of the additional classrooms that will be needed next school year. New courses in psychology, philosophy, theosophy and information technology will be added for the upcoming school year. Also, the enrolment is expected to increase.

As you are probably aware from our TOS international and USA websites and newsletters, we have again received a matching grant offer for 2009. This time the amount is $20,000. We are well on our way to realising this more modest goal, but time is flying. The deadline for any funds to be received by the TOS/USA is December 31, 2009.

Once again we invite you to double the value and effect of your contribution to the school. Any amount is welcomed. Last year we received donations of all sizes from Europe, Australia, Asia and the Americas, both from members and from people hearing about the TOS for the first time. As we did last year a list of all donors will be forwarded to the school.

All donations must be sent in US$ either by mail or by electronic deposit to the Theosophical Order of Service USA. Be sure to mark your cheque for ‘GOLDEN LINK’. The mailing address is:
