Our members in Ukraine

Our fellow Theosophists in Ukraine say they greatly appreciate our loving thoughts and messages of concern in the face of the continuing military tension in eastern regions of the country. Ukrainian citizens are divided in their sympathies on the political situation. Most, under their newly elected president, would like to see their country join the European Union. Others see the future of Ukraine in close relationship with Russia.

TOS members have decided not to discuss this whole political question at their meetings but instead to seek together to give aid to the victims of both sides.

The members in Kiev have rallied in support of a camp set up by the local Christian community for both Ukrainian and Russian Ukrainian refugee families from the cities of Slavyansk, Kramatorsk and Donetsk. They are collecting and delivering all kinds of goods: clothing and footwear, toiletries, toys, electrical appliances, bedding and other household goods. Whatever their individual views and sympathies, they ardently hope peace will soon be restored in their country and that the many displaced people will be able to return home.

Let us continue to hold the people of Ukraine in our thoughts.
