THEOSOPHICAL ORDER OF SERVICE - ARGENTINA
The TOS began its activities in Argentina in the late 1920s. At that period Dr. Annie Besant was the International President of the organisation, Mr. Max Wardall its International Secretary and Mr. Alfredo N. Escardol the Director within Argentina. Later, another of our dynamic national leaders was Mrs María Luisa Milanovska.
Historically, work was focused in three broad areas:
- Social Service
In this department aid was given principally to the disabled, the blind, to prisoners and to those at risk on the edge of society.
- Education
Activities were organised for children fostering generosity, altruism and fellowship. Amongst the youngsters, the values of chivalry, perseverance, love of truth and respect for all living beings were emphasized.
- World Peace
Meditation groups focusing on harmony, solidarity and fraternal love were formed. A Movement for Peace and a League of International Correspondence were formed to foster ties of friendship and brotherhood amongst the citizens of the world.
Significant work was undertaken for the protection of animals. Naturism for health was also practised. Finally, there was a Department of New Initiatives and Inspirations based on the realization that new methods of work often give rise to more effective work.
Service work has continued to this day in Argentina, the tasks undertaken varying according to needs perceived in all these areas. At present the TOS in Argentina has a solid number of servers spread across eight provinces in the country. (Wherever there is a Theosophical Society group, there is a TOS group of servers working).
Seeking to put into practice the First Object of the Theosophical Society, namely the promotion of brotherhood, the TOS in Argentina is working hard in the areas of Social Service, Ecology, Healing and World Peace. We are aware that work is urgently required!

ORDEN TEOSÓFICA DE SERVICIO - ARGENTINA
Haciendo historia y gracias al material que se encontró en los archivos, la OTS comenzó sus actividades en Argentina entre el 1928 y 1930.
Por aquellos años la Dra. Annie Besant era la Presidenta Internacional, el Sr. Max Pardal el Secretario Internacional y como Director o Corresponsal para Argentina el Sr. Alfredo N. Escardo, otro de aquellos precursores fue la Sra. Maria Luisa Milanovska.
Desde sus comienzos se creía conveniente dirigir los esfuerzos hacia:
1) Servicio Social, en este departamento se trabajo principalmente llevando alivio a los que sufren, especialmente a los relegados socialmente, a los inválidos, presos y a los ciegos.
2) Educación: se organizaban reuniones infantiles fomentando y ejercitando la generosidad, el desinterés, y el compañerismo. Entre la juventud se difundieron los valores de caballerosidad, perseverancia en el esfuerzo, amor a la verdad y respeto a todo ser viviente.
3) Paz Mundial: se reunían en grupos para meditar en la armonía, solidaridad y el amor fraternal, también se formo en aquella época el movimiento Pro Paz y la liga de correspondencia internacional para estrechar vínculos y crear amistades.
También se trabajó intensamente en la protección del Reino Animal, en el Naturismo como medio de salud. Por ultimo se había creado el Departamento de Nuevas Iniciativas e Inspiraciones, aquí se reunían todos los servidores que con nuevos métodos de trabajos hacían más eficiente la labor en conjunto.
El esfuerzo hecho por estos seres, dando de si todo por el bienestar de los reinos se ha mantenido firme con sus altos y bajos hasta nuestros días buscando desempeñar la labor que es necesaria realizar.
En la actualidad la OTS en Argentina cuenta con un número importante de servidores que están distribuidos en ocho provincias del país, (donde hay una casa de la Sociedad Teosófica hay un grupo de servidores trabajando). Poniendo en práctica el primer objetivo de la Sociedad Teosófica, que es la Fraternidad.
La Ots en Argentina esta trabajando con énfasis en el Departamento de Servicio Social, Ecología, Sanación y Paz Mundial
Dada la urgencia que requiere el trabajo en estas direcciones es que estamos dirigiendo nuestros esfuerzos.
